In March 2011, Jet Park Hotel was awarded the Qualmark Enviro-GOLD Rating, signifying that we have met the high levels of environmental and social responsibility required of this rating. Since then we have maintained this rating- this is an annual effort to continue reviewing and conducting our environmental and social initiatives.
Representing the culmination of a year’s work, this was a proud and gratifying moment! It had involved a fair degree of commitment and work by the whole Jet Park Hotel team.
Initiator and driver of the application process, Jet Park Hotel Human Resources Manager, Sonja Herrmann reports,
"When choosing to stay with us, guests can have total confidence they are selecting a hotel who stakes its reputation not only on the standard of it’s accommodation, facilities and customer service, but also on its pro-active and genuine approach to environmental sustainability.”Nor does Jet Park Hotel regard the project as ‘completed’. New developments in environmental sustainability will emerge and will be incorporated into the Jet Park program. As guests, your contribution with new ideas is not only welcome, they are actively solicited and your participation in sustainable practices equally encouraged:

Established in 1993, Qualmark New Zealand Limited is New Zealand tourism's official quality agency. It is a government and private sector partnership between Tourism New Zealand and the New Zealand Automobile Association.
Qualmark licenses professional and trustworthy New Zealand tourism businesses to use its ‘tourism's official quality mark' to the benefit of tourists, and to help maintain industry standards.
The Qualmark Responsible Tourism initiative calls for New Zealand tourism businesses to achieve a balance in their approach to economic, environmental and social priorities.
All businesses carrying the Qualmark logo are assessed on their environmental performance - with Enviro Awards given to top performers in five key action areas:
1. Energy efficiency
2. Waste management
3. Water conservation
4. Community activities
5. Conservation initiatives

Supporting the SPCA
Jet Park Hotel owners, Liz Herrmann and John Lateulere have long been avid supporters of the SPCA both in South Africa and here in New Zealand.
"SPCA is a cause close to our hearts, and has long been the chosen charity of Jet Park Airport Hotel & Conference Centre." We began supporting the SPCA the same time as Jet Park Hotel's opening back in 1998. The relationship has gone from strength to strength, and more recently in 2012, became a major 'Bed and Board' sponsor of the SPCA Auckland. With the inclusion of a functional Education Centre at the SPCA Auckland, we are happy to refer clients to their Conference Centre when we are fully booked and vice versa.
"We're really fortunate to have companies like Jet Park come on board to support SPCA Auckland," says Marketing & Fundraising Manager, Rona Booth. "Corporate support is critical in helping us to raise funds to care for the animals..."

Kokako Bird ConservationJet Park Hotel is involved in the conservation of New Zealand’s endangered Kokako bird in the Hunua Ranges. We work along-side Auckland Council and Friends of Hunua Ranges.
Jet Park Hotel also supports Women’s Refuge with donations of good used clothing and useful household items and furniture.
