Murray initially trained as a Chef but after a number of years found a talent for working in front of house in the restaurant and bar, and later as Hotel Duty Manager. He has owned and operated his own business for 4 years and looked after various groups and parties such as Japanese media during APEC, various ministers and dignitaries.  23 years later however, Murray is no stranger to the hospitality industry.

Murray enjoys meeting people and endeavours to make their stay a memorable one. With a philosophy of going the extra mile for our guests, Murray is a wealth of knowledge with hints and tips on what to see and do while visiting New Zealand, thus ensuring people’s trips are memorable: “Jet Park Hotel,” Murray says, “… is like a large family, where we try to assist and include our guests within this group to make them feel welcome with help and assistance not found at large properties.”

Originally hailing from Te Awamutu in the Waikato, Murray enjoys relaxing, catching up with family and friends as well as dabbling in Genealogy when time allows. He also may be found jetting off on holiday or getting out of town to relax and unwind. He has visited the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour, Blue Mountains and Melbourne in Australia; however would love to visit the motherland of U.K.
