Carmel is no stranger to the hospitality industry, initially helping out her mother who used to do out-catering when Carmel was just 11 years old. In her words, “It just came naturally that I continued on what I knew from the start”. 10 years working within the industry has equipped Carmel with the hands-on experience and knowledge to hit the ground running in this busy role.

Highlights of Carmel’s career so far have included being part of the team that won Best Nationwide Conference venue 2008, 2009 and 2010 with Castaways for Corporate Events Guide. She also enjoys travelling to the various destinations around the world, and on her list of things to do - elephant trekking through Northern Thailand. Any spare time is spent playing netball, going camping, fishing and to the beach (the ‘great Kiwi lifestyle’). Carmel may also be found watching her son participate in his sports and activities.

Working in the Hospitality industry, Carmel states “I enjoy the diversity of the range of people you meet and interact with. Everyone has a story and comes from different parts of the world. Hospitality is a fast paced industry and always keeps you on your toes!”
